Hanzo placed the blanket down, trying to straighten it out as best he could. Settling down on it, he pulled out of his backpack a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. He uncorked the bottle and began to pour, the cool breeze feeling pleasant against his hot skin. The only sounds were the wine filling the glass and the buzz of the fireflies dancing around his head.

As such, the sound of footsteps stood out to him. He smiled, knowing exactly who was coming, and only looked up when he saw a shadow over him.

"Your hearing is failing you, Hanzo," Kuai teased, hands on his hips and looking down with a fond smile on his face.

"I recognised your footsteps, Kuai Liang," Hanzo replied, patting the space next to him on the blanket.

As Kuai settled down, he stated "it's a nice night. The fireflies are out, the full moon is shining..." Kuai looked at Hanzo with a playful smile, "the company of the most handsome man in all the realms."

"Hm, yes I am so lucky to be in that man's presence," Hanzo countered, delighted by the way Kuai's cheeks went red and the reverse of the compliment. He passed Kuai one of the wine glasses, which Kuai accepted easily.

"Either way, you are right, the Fire Gardens are beautiful under the light of the full moon," Kuai commented, taking the chance to scoot closer to Hanzo. "I would not want to be anywhere but here right now, with you."

Hanzo picked up his glass of wine with one hand, while he used the other to pull Kuai close to him. Kuai gave a happy sigh, resting his head against Hanzo's shoulder. Hanzo looked down at his husband, he practically glowed in the moonlight. An ethereal beauty. There were not enough words, in English, Japanese and Chinese combined, to ever describe the way Kuai Liang made him feel.

"Happy anniversary, my love," Hanzo whispered against Kuai's forehead, holding his glass out in toast. "Wo ai ni."

"Ai shiteru," Kuai replied, reaching his glass to Hanzo's. The clink chimed out and echoed in the silence. "My soulmate."

"The red strings were kind when they brought us together," Hanzo claimed, nuzzling his face into Kuai's hair.

That night, under the light of the moon and with his husband in his arms, Hanzo knew that for once in his life, everything was well with the world.
